I run my own company on AI
I was trained as a scientist at the University of Illinois. Molecular and cellular biology, which is a long way of saying I was taught to take apart complex systems. Then I spent a decade in the rooms where big marketing actually happens. Almost five years at Electronic Arts, running a $5 million a year book of business. Then Samba TV, where I led a team of eight doing $15 million+ a year in viewership data for the agencies and advertisers who spent it.
I left that to build Imperia Technologies, a custom smart-home company in Naperville. One shop. Me in it.
The interesting part isn't that I run a small business. It's that I built AI into the places where the company kept waiting on me: quotes, marketing, the website, the books, and inbound calls. The result is not flashy. There are fewer steps I have to remember, follow-up happens sooner, and more of the business keeps moving while I am with a customer.
